Microsoft Introduces the Xbox Wireless Headset

Direct pairing to console, Dolby Atmos, and 15 hour battery for $99.99.

Microsoft introduced their new Xbox Wireless Headset today. They promise a superior experience with direct pairing to one’s console, Dolby Atmos, Windows Sonic, DTS Headphone:X, voice isolation for the mic, a folding mic, auto mute, USB-C charging, and around 15 hours of battery life.

Windows Sonic provides immersive sound for movies and games. DTS Headphone:X is a codec featuring 3D sound; 3D sound allows for more depth of sound and can mimic speakers in the ceiling, behind, under, and to the sides of the listener. Dolby Atmos does this as well, mimicking the placement of sound around a listener as well as providing clarity in voice and accurate re-creation of sound.

The Xbox Wireless headset will work with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Windows. It will be available on March 16th, 2021 for $99.99.
