Days after Twitter froze the account of the nation’s president, the government of Nigeria has indefinitely suspended the social media platform.
The announcement was made public on…Twitter.
Two days ago, Twitter temporarily suspended the account of Nigeria’s president, Muhammadu Buhari. In a tweet he sent out, he vowed to punish separatists by violent means. Twitter concluded his language violated the social media platform’s “abusive behavior” policy and froze his account.
The African nation has attempted to pass legislation to regulate social media and this appears to be the latest salvo in its conflict with social media platforms.
