In two days time, Amazon will share a portion of your home WiFi bandwidth with Echo and Ring devices belonging to your neighbors. In an attempt to improve services for devices that may lie near the edge of your property (and thus the reaches of your WiFi), Amazon has devised a sharing protocol between its devices. It sounds great until you consider the security of your home network and what others could eventually access if they gain access to the sharing protocol being used.
To opt-out, go to the Amazon Alexa app on your device and go to: More>Settings>Account Settings>Amazon Sidewalk> and then click on the switch to disable the feature.
