Amazon is dipping its toe into a Kickstarter-like build of a Smart Cuckoo Clock concept. With a minimalist design, “early adopters” can save $20 and contribute to the building of the clock. As of the publishing of this article, Amazon states that only 43% of its pre-order goal has been met.
The Amazon Smart Cuckoo Clock feature a working cuckoo that will emerge when timers or alarms go off or at the top of the hour, every hour. There is a hanging pendulum that can swing back and forth. It runs on 4 C batteries and it also has a 5V port for optional power adapter and cable and also requires an Alexa device to be nearby. The minute markings are LED lights and will give a visual for timers. A small 1 watt speaker is on the back of the clock.
